How an unknown Civil War soldier got his identity back

The first time I saw these pictures my first thought how handsome he was but reading on there was a happy discovery with a sad ending.

Both pictures below are from the collection of the  Library of Congress
They also have a Flickr account and among the pictures posted was the one below of an unidentified soldier. The story begins when a man named Bryan Watson commented on the posting.

The sad part is that Jesse Sharpe Barnes lost his live in the Battle of Seven Pines near Richmond, Va., in the late spring of 1862.
